Introduction:

Welcome to the Collector’s Website devoted to the incredible talents of the noted Mexican ceramist Herón Martínez Mendoza who lived in Acatlán de Osorio in the Mexican state of Puebla.

There are many collectors of Martínez’s great array of creativity, which ranged from unique trees of life to whimsical zoomorphic pieces (animales fantasticos and animales grotéscos), pots, churches, masks, wall plaques and more.  This website will focus on those collectors and their tales of how they discovered Martínez and what makes him special.  Selected photos of prized pieces in people’s collections would be  especially welcome to post on the website, as there is a dearth of such material on the Internet.

If you would like to contribute to this website, please contact Lee Price Arellano at:  lpa.hmm@gmail.com .  In addition, if you know other collectors of Martínez’s work, please tell them about this project.

Thank you in advance.   We hope this website will honor Martínez’s  huge talent and also bind together the collectors who feel so strongly about him.
